Summary: Keith Church passed Jerry Garris with 3 laps remaining in the 18th Stars and Bars Clash to claim his 3rd career win. The Clash is a three segment race made up of a 30, a 20, and a 10 lap shootout to determine the overall winner. Craig Garris claimed the 30 lap and the 20 lap segments with a lot of action and cautions strewn throughout the duration of the event. Most notable was an early 30 lap skirmish between Church and Chris Garris that resulted in the Garris kart having a warped sprocket which plagued him throughtout the remainder of the event. Jerry Garris led the first 7 laps of the 10 lap shootout before Craig Garris fouled a plug and pulled into the infield bringing out the caution to set up Church's run for the win. Brock Dowell came home with a great third place run in his second-ever start. Doug Wood started for the first time, but had engine trouble with the #6 Valvoline Ford.

Summary: The Tiger Racing teammates Craig Garris and Keith Church made it 2 for 2 with Garris scoring his first victory of Series 18 in a convincing win after taking the pole with a 7.52 lap. Church won the Stars and Bars Clash in the first race. The race had many cautions with everyone involved at one time or another except Craig. When it was all sorted out at the end Chris Garris had the second place machine, Keith Church third, rookie Doug Wood was fourth and Jerry Garris fifth. Wood ran his first race with the former Slow Joe West Racing Lowes Chevrolet #48. Jerry Garris had mechanical problems that sidelined him.

Summary: Chris Garris blistered the concrete with a 7.46 qualifying lap to win pole position in the Mishue Motorsport 50. Jamie Prevette made his first start in Series 18 driving the #11 Church Family Practice/Bud Chevrolet while Keith Church made his first ever start with the #19 Empire Dodge. Doug Wood led the first several laps when Chris and Craig Garris got together which resulted in Craig's kart catapulting three feet in the air. Wood continued to lead until Jamie Prevette bumped him out of the way after Prevette was bumped by Craig. The next caution resulted in Keith Church being spun off turn 2 by Chris Garris. On the restart, Chris had a good lead, Craig passed Jamie for second and Chris pulled to the infield inexplicably. There was a lot of dirt in turn 4 and when Chris hit it, he spun his tire and thought he had a problem. Craig led and lengthened his lead until he began to slow due to a fuel delivery problem. Jamie got inside him and they got together bringing out the 5th caution. Chris got inside Jamie for second (with Keith leading) in turn 3 and drifted up the track allowing Craig to pass both of them on the back stretch. The next lap Chris lost his left front wheel due to bearing failure which explained why he went up the track the lap previous. Craig got around Keith and appeared on his way to the win when he began slowing again due to fuel starvation. Keith caught him and Craig blocked him with 2 laps to go and they came to a standstill between turns 3 and 4 bringing out the 7th caution. Craig refueled and this setup a green, white, checker finish. Keith led lap 49 and looked like he would take his second win in three races, but slipped out of the groove in turn 4 and Craig took the inside to the checkered flag ahead by a kart length. Video review did not show the "bump and run" as there was no contact in turns 3 and 4 between the two teammates. A very competitive, exciting race to put into the Rebkart history books.

POLE WINNER---81-Chris Garris 7.59, 2nd 19-Keith Church 7.69, 3rd 7-Craig Garris 7.80, 4th 48-Doug Wood 8.05

Summary: The number of karts at the Interstate HVAC 50 was down and mechanical problems were up. After practice Craig Garris developed a valve problem and Keith Church broke a starter rope. Garris' #21 suffered a rare DNS, but he drove a Garris Motorsport back up kart, the #7 Clyde Torkel Chicken Pit "Fastest Chicken In The South"/Pump and Munch Ford. Church repaired his problem and once qualifying got underway Chris Garris claimed his second pole this series with a 7.59 lap. Craig led the first few laps until Church was spun (again) by Chris Garris. Keith recovered and took the lead briefly until Chris took over. Craig was attempting to retake second and contact with Keith caused the #7 to lose a chain. On the restart, the same problem occurred causing the point leader to lose 20 laps. Chris had a substantial lead until his engine expired and seconds later Keith's engine also "locked up." This left Doug Wood to finish out the race and claim his first victory as his kart made it to the finish, but barely as his chain never was on the sprocket, but actually on the chain guard. Craig fixed his chain problem and made up one lap enroute to an unlikely second place finish. Apparently Keith took the spot on Chris just before the caution came out for Chris' problem and before his own engine stopped running.

The next race will be at 10, repeat 10 AM Saturday, June 9th.

POLE WINNER---81-Chris Garris 7.54, 2nd 3-Jamie Prevette 7.69, 3rd 80-Jerry Garris 7.97

Summary: Chris Garris claimed his first victory since November 2003 in convincing fashion as he took the lead from Jerry Garris on lap two and never looked back. His #81 Garris Motorsport Ford won the pole position with a 7.54 lap to sweep the day. Jamie Prevette returned and debuted his brand new #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet and finished second after qualifying second. Almost two months in the making, he is back as a regular competitor. Wesley Harrold also made his first Rebkart start in Series 18 with a fourth place run after staying close to Jerry Garris most of the race. Jerry was third in a kart that proved to be reliable. Craig Garris was unable to start the race after the planned return of the #82 Havoline Ford with a fresh engine didn't pan out when the engine wouldn't come up to speed. The last race winner, Doug Wood, saw his luck change for the worse also as he has engine problems and did not start the race. The only caution was for Wesley Harrold in a single kart spin as he was closely following Jerry. Harrold spun again a few laps later, but did not bring out the caution.

POLE WINNER---3-Jamie Prevette 7.60, 2nd 11-Keith Church, 3rd 7-Doug Wood, 4th 82-Craig Garris, 5th 80-Jerry Garris

Summary: Jamie Prevette only took two races to win in the brand new #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet and did it in the Prevette Concrete 50. It didn't appear he would even start the race when his drive wheel hub broke in practice, but a rain shower brought out the red flag during qualifying and provided the opportunity for him to make repairs. It certainly looked like any other kart would win early in the race as Jamie was well off the pace and was lapped by Jerry Garris. Garris had a new engine and had a good lead that was slowly being chipped away by Keith Church. Church made his bid for the lead in turn four but got into Garris spinning him around and locking the karts together. During the caution period Garris' carburetor broke and ended a promising day. Church took over the lead and got away from Prevette (who had made up his lap) as Doug Wood made the effort to return battling chain problems. Prevette began to make a run and slowly gained on Church's #11 and dipped inside him four times off turn 2 before finally making the pass. Two laps later Church's engine blew up and there was no one left standing for Prevette to run down and pass awarding him his first win since May 2006. Indeed, the man in black is back!

Summary: Rebkart celebrated Independence Day with a hotdog and hamburger lunch prior to qualifying. Chris Garris must have gained the most calories to power his #81 as he reached the elite 40's when he took yet another pole position with a 7.48 lap. Jerry Garris failed to start the race when his engine seemed to have a electrical problem. Doug Wood and Jamie Prevette led from the front row the first couple of laps before Craig Garris took the inside to get the lead he did not relinquish for the next 58 laps. Chris Garris came to second but Craig was already half a lap ahead. The only caution came when Chris had his front wheel come off but it was easily repaired. However, Chris needed more fuel as he began to sputter in the corners costing him any chance of racing for the win. Craig lapped the field under green to take his third win in Series 18 and showed the Motorcraft Ford is back 100% from it's engine trouble. Chris was able to hold off Jamie and Doug Wood fixed his previous chain problems with the #7 and finished fourth. His primary kart, #48 Lowes Chevy, may be back in time for the next race.

Summary: A summer rain shower delayed the start of the 9th race of Series 18, but had nothing to do with six of the seven karts that showed up having mechanical trouble which ended the race early. Jamie Prevette and Doug Wood broke drive wheels in practice. Craig Garris' engine put a rod through the side of the block, Wesley Harrold's kart just stopped running. Jerry Garris led early until Chris Garris took over and began pulling away. Keith Church came to second after swapping the spot with Jerry back and forth. Jerry spun out with low air pressure and opted for a relief driver with Craig Garris taking over. Craig made up the lap #80 was down with a pass of Keith before Chris had chain trouble. On the restart the racing really cranked up with Chris, Keith and Craig bumper to bumper with Chris leading. Chris had more chain trouble on the backstretch right in front of the others and Keith was collected as Craig barely missed both. Craig led until Chris got into him trying to make the pass turning him sideways all the way down the frontstretch and then completing the spin in turn 2. Keith went to the inside as Craig was recovering and was struck in the drive wheel which broke his chain ending #19's day. On the next restart, Chris broke his throttle and Craig was left standing as the winner. Strangely, Jerry Garris gets credit for the win as he started the race. A very competitive, attrition filled, rough race with the winner not even driving at the end. Just another typical day of Rebkart Racing!!

Summary:Series 18 keeps getting stranger and stranger. Jerry Garris won the last race even though he wasnt driving and this week Chris Garris takes the checkered flag but doesn't win. The story begins with Craig Garris returning with #21 instead of the problematic #82 and took the pole with a 7.69 lap. Keith Church was looking forward to seeing exactly what his newly freshened engine would do, but for the second straight race fell out early when after two laps his chain broke. Craig Garris then completed the Tiger Racing skid to the bottom when his engine erupted into a plume of smoke with a rod through the side of the block for the second straight race. Jerry Garris lost 5 laps when he had chain trouble also. Doug Wood led several early laps and was looking strong until Jamie Prevette made the pass off turn 4. Jerry returned and was running strong in a mix with Chris and Doug. Chris spun in turn 3 and was having fuel/carb problems, but didnt go a lap down. On the restart the positions changed four times between Chris and Doug culminating with Chris spinning again in turn 4, but this time he backed into the leader, Jamie and went a lap down. The flagmen failed to inform him that he had been lapped. The next restart saw Chris finally getting the bugs out as he went to the front and passed Jamie for what he thought was the lead and the eventual win when actually he had gotten on the tail of the lead lap. The flagmen conferred after the race and realized their error and the videotape confirmed it. The celebratory burnout was all for naught as well as the big winners party at Chris' mansion. The only thing that would have made it weirder would be Jamie doing a burnout alongside Chris following the race (a la Robbie Gordon). This race will add some wording to the rulebook.

Summary: The 18th running of the Rebel Clash began with Craig Garris setting a new qualifying record (after a rain delay) with a 7.44 lap besting the previous mark by one hundredth of a second. The points race was up for grabs as Chris Garris led Craig Garris by 14 points coming into the three segment event and Craig looked good to make a come from behind run for the championship. However, before lap 1 was complete of the first segment (30 laps) Craig's throttle hung up causing him to get into Keith Church and both went a lap down. The racing was great as Chris worked his way to the front followed by Jamie. Jerry Garris and Doug Wood fell out with mechanical trouble leaving Craig and Keith third and fourth. The field starting order was inverted for the twenty lap segment and it was less eventful as Craig got away quick and led all 20 laps with Keith second. Chris came home third, Jamie fourth as Doug and Jerry didn't complete the segment again. The 10 lap shootout was not inverted as decided by a coin flip and left Craig on the pole for not only a shootout for the race win, but also the Series Championship. Craig would be champion if Chris finished three spots worse than he did and again before one lap was complete Craig's throttle hung open into turn one causing him to spin completely around in front of the field just as Chris got into Keith spinning him in front of the field also collecting Jerry and Jamie with heavy impact. Craig was unable to continue with steering, throttle, chain, and wheel damage. Chris was cruising to victory in both the race and the series championship when as the white flag was being flown, he suddenly slowed with an engine problem leaving Keith Church to claim the last lap as his to complete a sweep of Clash events in Series 18. Jamie Prevette finished second, Jerry Garris third with Doug Wood in fourth.
